Spazi Aperti is a project started in 2003 by the scholars in visual arts at the Accademia di Romania in Roma with the aim of creating a platform of exchange and dialogue among the artists in residence at the international Academies and Cultural Institutes in Rome.

After ten editions, Spazi Aperti is forever printed in the conscious mind of the young creators, fellows of different foreign academies and cultural institutes in Rome. More than that is well known by the contemporary art public. The name of the event is determent by the quality and continuity. As the art critics also say, this yearly manifestation is the moment where international contemporary art can express itself.
